About Me + Expectations

My name is Lily Steller, and as you have probably already figured out I will be studying abroad in Freiburg, Germany this Fall of 2022. I was born and raised in San Diego, California and attend college at the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington. I am in my junior year studying Business Administration, International Political Economy, and German.

While I have traveled during my childhood throughout Europe and have learned German since Kindergarten, this semester will certainly be the longest and most independent I have ever been abroad. I look forward to embracing the new culture and challenges. From what I know of Freiburg so far it is one of the most liberal and environmentally conscious cities in Europe and I am interested to see how this plays out. I am especially excited for Freiburg's proximity to the Black Forest and all of the nature I will be surrounded with. 

I have the IPE program and the Vasilius IPE Study Abroad Project Grant to thank for inspiring me to create this blog of my experiences this semester.  See my program and all of the other international experiences that IES Abroad has to offer. I am so excited for my study abroad experience, broadening my horizons, and expanding my mind out of American politics and issues.
