Freiburg Food Favorites

I didn't eat out a lot in Freiburg as when I was not traveling I preferred to cook at home but here are a few of my highlights.

My favorite German Restaurant in Freiburg! This is one of my favorite dishes a lentil stew, spaetzle, and wurst! They also serve beer in the cutest mugs. Great comfort food and warm atmosphere.

Fun fact: I did not like pretzels before I came to Germany! This coffee shop I discovered only two weeks before leaving Freiburg but it was so lovely. Perfect place to work and for an afternoon kaffee and kuchen.

Getting a wurst at the Muenster Market is a necessary experience while being in Freiburg. The typical wurst for Freiburg is the lange Rote but my personal favorite is a weisswurst. There are plenty of wurst stands but I recommend Brunner.

I don't know how I don't have a better photo of this coffee shop but it is my absolute favorite coffee shop in all of Freiburg. I spent the majority of my afternoons here studying. They have delicious drinks, my personal favorite, their dirty chai! All of there drinks come standard with oat milk and you actually have to pay extra for dairy milk which I find amazing. There cups that they serve drinks in are also made out of recycles coffee grounds. I will miss this place so much, it was the perfect balance from a place to chat with friends over Kaffee and Kuchen, and a nice place to get work done.
